I agree with riggs. I have an idea (working within the income tax structure): At a certain personal income level, everyone pays a certain percentage. No loopholes, no whining, no hiring expensive attorneys and accountants to get out of it.

What the H! is all this about the rich paying their "fair share"? Don't you see that Congress has purposely set the line at $200K? That makes Congressmen NOT rich since they are paid $174K.

Luger - I don't believe in "trickle down economics." I believe in trickle AROUND economics. The more EVERYONE has to invest, produce, and spend, the better off EVERYONE is.

And everyone CAN get a tax break at once. What makes you say they can't? If the rich get a tax break, they invest and produce more. If consumers get a tax break, they consume more. All this amounts to more income, and, therefore, a larger tax base.

Luger - Fair share?... The top 5% of income earners pay in excess of 90% of the taxes. And the bottom 47% pay NONE. What exactly would be the wealthy's fair share?

Which idea is logical?! How about tax breaks for ALL?! The producers can produce more and consumers can consume more! What's so bad about that?
